The Latest from Hummingbird Hill

I haven't really posted very much since we lost our female geese last year, each one on a Friday night, one after the other until they were all gone.  So now we have cameras installed on the property. Sad but true that we must do that.

It is hard to loose pets like that, especially birds that you have raised from eggs. Rex took it the hardest, as  geese mate for life and he lost his beloved mate. He moaned and mourned for months and so did we.  I  just hope that they are in a pond somewhere having a good life.

Here are a few photos from  the garden and the magnolia that everyone said wouldn't make it after katrina whacked it good. I moved my chicken coop up the hill from it and watered it every day for a few weeks and then once a week for months. It is blooming still.
